Amazon Web Services (AWS), is seeking a motivated and experienced Data Engineer to assist us in developing a data collection platform for various AWS AI products. A strong background in computer science and knowledge of natural language processing tools are essential for the successful candidate.
You will be a Data Engineer in our Science team. As part of this team, you will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Scientists and Technical Program Managers to develop data pipelines that can be used to optimize data collection, processing, and storage.In a data warehouse environment, you will be responsible for synthesizing and analyzing data from across the organization. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create software to optimize data annotation, data processing and data metrics generation
* Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and linguists who are experts in AI data collection to optimize and automate the entire data collection process.
* Lead the creation of a data warehouse, pipeline and dashboard that scales and allows large volumes of data to flow seamlessly between internal and externe teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* A bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or another technical discipline.
* A minimum of 3+ years experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer with strong knowledge in algorithms.
* Experience in software development using an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C++.
* Knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl or Python.
* Software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle. This includes agile methodologies, code reviews, code standards, code reviews and source management.
* Basic knowledge of data management principles and storage principles.
* Knowledge of distributed systems in relation to data storage and computing.
PREFERRED QALIFICATIONS
* Experience in the industry as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer or other related specialty.
* Experience building data products incrementally, integrating and managing multiple datasets.
SQL Experience.
